The nephew of the deceased, Dinesh, who also filed a complaint, disclosed to the police that Baljeet had acquired numerous liquor contracts in the Jhajjar district. Previously, a rival faction consisting of Om Bhagwan, Deepak, Mohit Bhuria, and Naresh Sethi held these contracts. As the victim began securing these contracts, the rivalry intensified.
