Chandigarh, Sep 2 (NationPress) In a show of support for the residents of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, who are grappling with devastating floods triggered by intense rainfall, the Haryana government announced on Tuesday that it has allocated a sum of Rs 5 crore to each state from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
According to a government statement, this financial aid is intended to deliver immediate assistance to those affected and bolster ongoing rescue and rehabilitation efforts in both regions.
In a correspondence directed to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed that “in this challenging time of natural disaster, the Haryana government and its citizens stand unwaveringly with the impacted states.”
He emphasized that the severe weather and consequent flooding have placed immense strain on ordinary citizens, stating, “It is our responsibility as a supportive neighbor and friend to act.”
Chief Minister Saini further reassured that the Haryana government is thoroughly prepared to offer comprehensive support to guarantee timely and sufficient aid for those in need.
