Gurugram, Jan 11 (NationPress) Haryana's Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh has conducted a visit to the designated Jungle Safari site within the Aravali range in Gurugram, offering crucial guidance to the relevant officials, as reported by sources.
The Minister convened a meeting with departmental officials in Chandigarh on Thursday to discuss the project and urged them to expedite the Jungle Safari initiative, emphasizing the importance of visiting the site personally to assess the current status.
As part of these initiatives, he toured the proposed location on Friday morning, accompanied by officials from the Environment, Forest and Wildlife Department.
During his visit, Minister Singh directed officials to advance the project by identifying approximately 2,500 acres of land in the underdeveloped areas of the Aravali range located in the villages of Sakatpur, Gairatpurbas, Sikohpur, and Norangpur during the initial phase of the Jungle Safari project.
“Officials must ensure that the Dhok forest in the Aravali range remains undisturbed throughout the land identification process. Additionally, all essential facilities for tourists will be developed on the designated land during the first phase while focusing on eco-tourism,” he stated.
The Minister highlighted that the proximity of this area to Delhi offers significant potential for eco-tourism.
He urged the forest department officials to explore all viable strategies to encourage eco-tourism in the region, Singh added.
Recently, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has officially transferred the responsibility for this project from the Tourism Department to the Forest and Wildlife Department.
Previously, Minister Singh has also evaluated the Green Wall Project and initiated its implementation in the Aravalli mountain range.
Notable officials present during the visit included PCCF Vivek Saxena of the Haryana Forest Department, Forest Conservator Subhash Yadav from Gurugram, and Gurugram DFOs Rajkumar and Nuh Pradeep, among others.
