Thiruvananthapuram, April 25 (NationPress) HLL Lifecare Limited, a Central Public Sector Undertaking operating under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, is preparing to broaden the reach of its flagship AMRIT initiative across the nation as it marks its Diamond Jubilee and a decade of AMRIT's impactful journey.
AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) Pharmacies have played a crucial role in delivering affordable and high-quality medicines, medical devices, and implants, especially for the economically disadvantaged.
To commemorate this milestone and pave the way for future growth, HLL has introduced a newly refreshed visual identity for AMRIT.
The new logo and brand identity were officially launched by Dr. Anitha Thampi, Chairperson and Managing Director of HLL, in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.
“The rebranding of AMRIT signifies our renewed dedication to affordability, reliability, and enhanced accessibility,” she stated, adding, “The name AMRIT embodies our lasting promise of trust and care as we embark on a new chapter.”
Initiated in 2015 under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and executed by HLL, the AMRIT initiative has notably alleviated the financial burden of critical healthcare.
The pharmacies provide life-saving medications and implants at discounts of up to 50% compared to market prices, having served over 6 crore patients and facilitated savings of around Rs 6,500 crore on medicines and healthcare products valued at Rs 13,104 crore.
With over 220 outlets already functioning in renowned healthcare institutions like AIIMS, JIPMER, and other significant government hospitals, HLL plans to aggressively expand the AMRIT network nationwide.
The next phase will concentrate on enhancing customer experience through home delivery services, improved product availability, digital integration, and an expanded footprint, aligning with the Government of India’s vision for accessible healthcare.
AMRIT is operated by the Retail Business Division of HLL, which also oversees the HLL Pharmacy and HLL Opticals chains throughout the country.
