Increase in Unauthorized Farmhouse Developments in Aravallis, Sohna Council Takes Action

Gurugram, Dec 11 (NationPress) After the problem of unauthorized farmhouse constructions was highlighted at the Municipal Council Sohna, a campaign has been launched to re-evaluate these structures located in the Aravalli Hills near Raisina village.
Officials reported that in the past week, show cause notices have been affixed outside nine farmhouses for their illegal construction. The owners of these farmhouses are required to respond to the notice within seven days.
In response to the widespread unauthorized construction, the council’s team is currently surveying the Aravalli region to halt the establishment of illegal farmhouses.
Reports indicate that approximately 450 farmhouses have been sold in Aravalli by private builders who developed plots of one to two acres.
During the council's survey conducted prior to 1992, only four to five constructions were deemed legal. Any structures built after 1992 are classified as illegal.
"The council's survey team has commenced a campaign of issuing notices for illegal constructions to the relevant owners. Show cause notices have been posted outside nine farmhouses during the survey," stated Digambar Singh, JE, Sohna Council.
Additionally, 13 upscale cafes and restaurants located along Aravalli's Leopard Trail are set to be demolished.
These cafes and restaurants were constructed illegally on agricultural land along a one-kilometer stretch of Gairatpur Bas village, Gurugram.
This area in Gairatpur Bas village is referred to as the leopard trail due to the frequent sightings of leopards nearby in the Aravallis.
These establishments managed to evade action due to the elections held this year.
"Approximately 12 cafes are operating illegally without obtaining a change of land use (CLU) permission. Swimming pools have been made operational without the necessary consent from the appropriate authority. We have already sent notices to the owners of these establishments, but they have not responded. We will soon take the necessary actions," remarked RS Bhath, Nodal Officer Enforcement, Gurugram.
