INDIA Bloc Exclusively for General Elections, Congress Gaining Traction in Delhi: Khera

Jaipur, Jan 9 (NationPress) Congress leader Pawan Khera stated on Thursday that the INDIA bloc was created specifically for the Lok Sabha elections and noted that the party is experiencing considerable momentum as the Delhi Assembly elections draw near.
Khera's comments were a response to statements made by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who also pointed out that the INDIA bloc was intended for the general elections at the national level.
Strains within the INDIA bloc have emerged as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress, two key members, get ready to contest the Delhi Assembly elections independently.
Notably, several partners of the INDIA bloc have shown support for AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
In response, Khera informed IANS, "The INDIA bloc was established for the Lok Sabha elections on a national scale. Depending on the circumstances in various states, whether it is the Congress or regional parties, they make independent decisions on whether to collaborate or compete separately."
With less than a month to go for the Delhi Assembly elections, the political atmosphere is intensifying, with the ruling AAP, along with Opposition BJP and Congress, all striving for supremacy in the 70-member Assembly.
Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and senior Congress figure Prithviraj Chavan anticipated a third consecutive win for the AAP. His remarks came after the Election Commission of India announced that polling would be held on February 5, with results due on February 8.
During a conversation with IANS, Chavan expressed his discontent over the separation between Congress and AAP after they collaborated in the Lok Sabha elections last year.
Reacting to Chavan's prediction, Khera explained, "I spoke with him. He suggested that had we joined forces, we would have certainly triumphed. However, given our separate campaigns, predicting the outcome is challenging."
Khera also conveyed his assurance regarding Congress's performance, asserting, "The momentum of Congress is steadily increasing. It would not be astonishing if Congress emerges as a significant force in Delhi."
In response to the BJP's claims of Kejriwal utilizing the 'Hindutva card,' Khera dismissed these, stating, "This is politics, not a card game. They need to understand — card games are ineffective in politics. If they want to play card games, they should do so in their drawing rooms."
With Delhi poised for polling on February 5 and results on February 8, the stage is set for a fiercely contested struggle among the three principal political entities.
