Gandhinagar, 30 July (NationPress) Former Nigerian Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama engaged with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel during his recent visit to India, which was part of the Indian Culture Immersion Programme organized by the Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday.
In their meeting in Gandhinagar, both leaders celebrated the strengthening of India-Nigeria relations, especially in light of Nigeria's involvement in the G-20 Summit under India's presidency.
The Chief Minister underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi's global vision of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - “the world is one family” - highlighting how this principle continues to influence India’s inclusive foreign policy.
Onyeama, who was accompanied by his wife, expressed his admiration for Gujarat’s swift development and its commitment to preserving cultural heritage.
He acknowledged Gujarat’s efforts in providing higher education opportunities to Nigerian students, which further fortifies the ties between the two nations.

During his visit, the former Nigerian Foreign Minister toured the Statue of Unity and Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara.
He is expected to visit the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and Gujarat Technological University (GTU) on Thursday.
