Bengaluru, Feb 3 (NationPress) The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has celebrated the India-US trade agreement as a historic breakthrough for the economy.
On the social media platform 'X', BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra proclaimed, "The India-US trade deal represents a transformative juncture for our economy. With tariffs now reduced to merely 18 percent, this groundbreaking pact opens doors to exceptional opportunities for our farmers, MSMEs, entrepreneurs, and skilled labor, further amplifying our 'Make In India' and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. This is a game-changer for exports, job creation, and economic expansion."
Vijayendra extended his warm congratulations to the Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and diplomatic skill in securing this agreement, which fortifies the strategic alliance between the world's two largest democracies.
BJP MP and former CM Basavaraj Bommai remarked that the agreements forged between India and the US signify a crucial advancement in enhancing bilateral relations.
In a post on social media 'X', he noted that Prime Minister Modi's strong leadership has successfully defended India's national interests globally. By leveraging his capabilities effectively, the Prime Minister has capitalized on global opportunities for India's development.
Bommai expressed his sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and his team for achieving this significant milestone.
He further highlighted that this agreement will create fresh opportunities globally for farmers, small industries, startups, and skilled workers to engage in technology and development.
Conversely, Minister for RDPR, IT, and BT Priyank Kharge criticized the Centre, stating to reporters in Bengaluru, "A few months ago, the Centre celebrated GST Utsav after subjecting the common man to tax terrorism. Now they are celebrating a reduction in GST. This situation is comparable. The previous tariff on India was 26 percent, now it is 18 percent, and they are celebrating this change."
"US President Donald Trump is instructing India to procure fuel from them. They are dictating terms to our Prime Minister. You (BJP) are celebrating this situation. There is a lack of clarity, and Prime Minister Modi has not specified what India has gained. He frequently mentions Operation Sindoor, but everything remains in a state of confusion," Kharge added.
