Jagan Mohan Reddy, has urged the state government to implement prompt and coordinated actions to assist Non-Resident Andhras trapped in Gulf nations due to the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East.

He noted that numerous individuals from Andhra Pradesh are working in Gulf countries and are currently facing significant uncertainty and security threats as tensions rise.

With many flights cancelled and numerous international airports imposing restrictions, a large number of individuals are stranded, leading to immense distress and hardship, he stated.

The YSRCP leader emphasized the necessity for the state government to collaborate closely with the Central government and organize special evacuation efforts to guarantee their safe return. He also stressed the importance of maintaining close communication with Indian embassies in Gulf nations to protect the interests of expatriate Andhras.

He proposed the establishment of a dedicated control room within the state and the issuance of helpline numbers to provide families with regular updates regarding the safety and whereabouts of their relatives abroad.

Emphasizing that safeguarding the interests and ensuring the safe return of expatriate Andhras is the state's duty, Jagan Reddy stated that during a crisis, governance should transcend political motives and act with urgency and accountability.

Kondapalli Srinivas, the state NRI Relations and Empowerment Minister, confirmed that the state government is taking necessary measures to safely return Telugus stranded in Gulf countries.

On Monday, he mentioned that due to passengers experiencing difficulties at various airports amid the current conflict situation, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and he, as the minister in charge, are continuously monitoring the circumstances.

He added that to assist Non-Resident Andhraites in distress, the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRT) has notified coordinators in Gulf nations and is collaborating with local Telugu communities to provide temporary shelter, security, and necessary support.

The minister also stated that APNRT officials are closely observing the situation and maintaining contact with the coordinators.
