Jammu & Kashmir: Woman from Cooperative Marketing Society Applauds PM Modi for Life-Changing Support

Jammu, Jan 4 (NationPress) Simran, a representative of the Sahara Jagriti Fruit and Vegetable Cooperative Marketing Society, emphasized the life-changing effects of the NABARD initiative, expressing her appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the substantial improvement in her life.
In a conversation with IANS, Simran remarked, "Approximately 150,000 women are engaged with us in diverse activities, from cultivating turmeric to packaging and product creation... The government has been instrumental in this process. Previously, women lacked sufficient financial backing; however, through NABARD, they received funding via joint liability groups. This financial support enabled them to create these products. We are thankful to Prime Minister Modi for implementing such initiatives..."
Thanks to the NABARD scheme, around 150,000 women are being offered employment opportunities through the Sahara Jagriti Fruit and Vegetable Cooperative Marketing Society.
“We have evolved significantly from merely knowing turmeric as a kitchen spice; now we produce turmeric jam, turmeric cubes, and various other items. This initiative has created remarkable employment prospects for women,” she continued.
She added, “We sincerely appreciate Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his significant contributions. Women previously struggled with financial constraints, but with NABARD’s funding as part of liability groups, they have been able to establish their own businesses. Women are now successfully managing their enterprises, and we are grateful to the Prime Minister for these initiatives.”
The Union government promotes projects for farmers in specific sectors by subsidizing a portion of the overall project costs. These projects are designed to enhance capital investment, ensure sustained income, and create employment opportunities of national significance.
NABARD has proudly served as a channel partner for the Government in various schemes, passing on subsidies received from the relevant Ministry to financing banks.
