Jammu Region Police Leaders Address Issues of Narcotics Trafficking, Cross-Border Operations, and Organized Crime

Jammu, Jan 6 (NationPress) The Additional Director General of Police for Jammu, Anand Jain, convened a meeting on Monday to evaluate the current state of crime investigations in Jammu district, targeting narcotics trafficking, unlawful cross-border operations, and organized crime.

A police announcement indicated that the ADGP assessed the crime landscape in the district, paying particular attention to the latest crime patterns, especially those related to narcotics trafficking, illegal cross-border operations, and organized crime.

"He analyzed the progress of investigations and prosecutions, stressing the necessity for prompt and effective investigations to deliver justice to victims. Officers were instructed to establish a comprehensive database for monitoring repeat offenders, enhance vigilance at critical locations, including border outposts, and reaffirmed their dedication to collecting actionable intelligence, improving community policing, and building public confidence," the statement said.

"All attending officers were urged to stay alert and bolster intelligence-sharing networks to prevent any efforts by anti-national groups from undermining peace and stability. The ADGP also highlighted the need for actionable strategies to tackle challenges in evidence gathering and operational hurdles identified. Operational directives and guidelines were provided to investigating officers (IOs) to boost efficiency, uphold transparency, and prioritize sensitive cases."

The meeting included participation from DIG, JKS Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Jammu SSP Joginder Singh, all SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, and ICPPs of Jammu district, as per the statement.
