Jammu, Feb 17 (NationPress) IGP Jammu zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, conducted a review of security at forward operating bases in Kathua district on Monday.

A police official stated that the IGP was accompanied by Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, DIG JSK Range; Shobhit Saxena, IPS, SSP Kathua; Vikrant Prasher, SC, SSP Special Operations & Trainings; Kameshwar Puri, SP PC Jammu; Aumer Iqbal, SP Operations Upper Kathua; along with senior officers from the Army and Paramilitary forces.

“During the visit, the IGP assessed the current security measures, operational readiness, and collaboration between the police, Army, and paramilitary forces. He engaged with officers and personnel stationed at these key locations, sought insights into their operational challenges, and commended their commitment to protecting the region,” the official mentioned.

He further highlighted the necessity for increased vigilance, improved surveillance, and proactive strategies to mitigate any potential security risks.

The IGP reiterated the significance of uninterrupted inter-agency coordination to guarantee the safety and security of border regions.

Previously, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired two security review meetings concerning J&K recently.

The Home Minister issued clear directives to security agencies to achieve zero infiltration and maintain zero tolerance towards terrorists.

The J&K L-G also held two distinct security review meetings last week, one in Srinagar and the other in Jammu.

The L-G instructed the security forces and police to ensure that sympathizers of terrorism face consequences during anti-terror operations, discouraging them from participating in such anti-national activities.

He has mandated the security forces to dismantle the terror ecosystem, including its over ground workers (OGWs) and sympathizers, to eradicate terrorism from J&K.
