Jammu, April 25 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, has officially called for the Assembly to gather for a session on April 28, in line with Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.

The directive from the Lieutenant Governor states that the Assembly will convene in Jammu on the upcoming Monday at 10:30 a.m.

"I, Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in the exercise of the powers granted to me under Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, hereby summon the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to meet in Jammu on Monday, the 28th of April, 2025, at 10:30 A.M.," the directive stated.

An announcement from the Assembly Secretary noted: "In accordance with rule 3 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, all Hon’ble Members are requested to attend the Assembly Session at the specified date, time, and location."

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had previously urged for a special one-day Assembly session to allow the house to denounce the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, including 25 tourists and a local resident, on April 22, in the Baisaran meadow.

This Assembly session is taking place shortly after the Chief Minister organized an all-party meeting that condemned the heinous attack and expressed solidarity with the Central government's initiatives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned from his Saudi Arabia visit to address the situation, asserting that the terrorists and their backers will face consequences they could never anticipate. He emphasized that the terrorists would be pursued relentlessly.
