Ranchi, May 31 (NationPress) - A supplementary charge sheet has been filed by an NIA Special Court in Jharkhand against three individuals involved in a 2023 CPI(Maoist) terrorist conspiracy case, as confirmed by an official on Saturday.
In this supplementary filing, the NIA has identified Krishna Hansda, Abhijit Korah, and Ramdayal Mahto for their roles in fundraising for terrorist activities and facilitating terror training camps. While Abhijit is from Bihar, the other two are residents of Jharkhand.
All three individuals have been identified as active members of the outlawed terrorist organization, participating in a broader conspiracy that encompasses extortion, armed intimidation, and forced recruitment in the Parasnath area, located in Giridih district, Jharkhand, according to the NIA's charge sheet.
The case initially emerged from the arrest of Krishna Hansda in January 2023 in the Lucio Forest region near the Dumri Police Station, Giridih district.
Upon arrest, local police recovered levy money, a 7.65 mm bore pistol, and numerous incriminating documents from Hansda's possession. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged against Krishna Hansda, Abhijit Korah, Ramdayal Mahto, and others, along with a charge sheet filed against Hansda.
Krishna Hansda, also known by aliases Saurav Da and Avinash Da, faces additional charges under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, which address recruiting youth for terrorist training and financing terrorism.
Additionally, he has been charged under Section 25(6) of the Arms Act, 1959, focusing on organized crime and illegal possession of arms. He held the position of Regional Committee Member within the banned CPI (Maoist) organization.
Abhijit Korah, also known as Matla Korah or Sunil Korah, is charged under various sections of the IPC and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Ramdayal Mahto, also known as Nilesh Da or Bachchan Da, faces similar charges as Abhijit, with his association as a member of the Special Area Committee of CPI (Maoist).
The NIA took over and re-registered the case as RC-01/2023/NIA/RNC in June 2023.
