New Delhi, Sep 26 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has recently submitted charge sheets against an additional suspect in a conspiracy and extortion case linked to the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), with the aim of reinvigorating and fortifying the terrorist organization in Jharkhand, as stated by an official.
Krishna Yadav, also known as Krishna Mahto or Sultan, hailing from Ranchi district, is the seventh individual to be charged in this ongoing case.
In the third supplementary charge sheet submitted to the NIA Special Court in Ranchi, he faces various charges under multiple penal provisions, including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The NIA initiated this investigation on its own accord in October 2023 and discovered that Krishna had collaborated with other PLFI members to bolster and rejuvenate the group.
This organization is actively involved in waging war against the government and developing schemes to enhance extortion efforts from coal traders, transporters, railway contractors, and business owners across Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, according to the probe agency's findings.
Members of the PLFI have also plotted various terrorist activities, including murders, arson, and violent attacks, intending to instill fear in the public, particularly among businesspeople and contractors, the NIA reported.
Earlier in 2024, the NIA had filed three charge sheets, including two supplementary ones, against suspects Nivesh Kumar (alias Nivesh Poddar), Raman Kumar Sonu (alias Sonu Pandit), Kapil Pathak, Binod Munda, Nilamber Gope (alias Delga or Dikal), and Shiv Kumar Sahu (alias Charku) under various sections of the IPC, Arms Act, and the UA(P) Act.
In a separate matter, the NIA also filed a second supplementary charge sheet against two operatives of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) terrorist group for their involvement in the vicious murder of BJP leader Ratan Dubey in Chhattisgarh last year, as an official confirmed on Friday.
The charge sheet identifies Shivanand Nag and his father Narayan Prasad Nag as active participants in the conspiracy that culminated in Dubey's targeted assassination.
The charge sheet was lodged on Thursday with the NIA Special Court in Jagdalpur.
The investigation indicates that Shivanand Nag had established ties with the CPI (Maoist) and bore longstanding political, business, and personal grievances against Dubey.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the murder was not only intentional but also strategically orchestrated to disrupt the electoral process and instill panic among local inhabitants.
