Srinagar, April 5 (NationPress) The Jammu & Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) reached out to External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar on Sunday, requesting his urgent assistance in facilitating the repatriation of the remains of a Kashmiri youth, Bilal Manzoor Ganie, who sadly passed away in Saudi Arabia.
JKSA National Convenor Nasir Khuehami expressed deep sorrow over the unexpected loss of Bilal Manzoor Ganie, who hailed from Sogam' Chountiwari in the Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
According to the JKSA, Bilal had been employed in Saudi Arabia for the last year and a half as a nursing assistant at Aaba International Hospital, where he was advancing his career in the healthcare field.
Tragically, on Saturday (April 4), he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and was taken to the same hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His unexpected passing has deeply affected his native village.
"He was known for his dedication, hard work, and compassion, and his loss has left his family and community in profound grief," remarked the JKSA national convenor.
The JKSA has formally engaged the External Affairs Minister, urging him to instruct the relevant authorities, including the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, to expedite the process of bringing Bilal's remains back to India for last rites in accordance with his family's cultural and religious customs.
The Association acknowledged that such repatriation involves legal processes, documentation, and coordination with Saudi authorities, and assured full cooperation in the endeavor.
Furthermore, the JKSA expressed its readiness to provide every possible support, including liaising with family members, hospital staff, local contacts, and relevant diplomatic missions, to ensure that the repatriation is conducted smoothly and respectfully.
The JKSA hopes for a prompt response from the Ministry of External Affairs and appreciates its ongoing efforts to assist Indian citizens facing crises abroad.
