Patna, Feb 18 (NationPress) During his Pragati Yatra, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched and laid the groundwork for 169 developmental initiatives totaling Rs 345.50 crore in Kaimur district on Tuesday.
Nitish Kumar established the foundation for 79 projects with a combined cost of Rs 233.29 crore. He also inaugurated 90 projects worth Rs 112.20 crore.
Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated a degree college in Adhaura block, which will serve students in the Adhaura Hill region.
He inspected the Son River-Kohira River link project, which aims to improve irrigation capabilities in the area.
Furthermore, he reviewed plans for a new bypass road in Mohaniya to enhance transport and connectivity along the busy National Highway 19, linking Delhi to Kolkata.
Nitish Kumar also called for the development of tourist amenities at Karakatgarh, Telharkund, and Vanshikhod to establish them as tourist attractions.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure the provision of drinking water from the Son River, benefiting villages in Adhaura block, and to construct a sports complex to enhance sports infrastructure in Kaimur, under the Jamani Ganga Jal Lift Scheme.
This project will be carried out with support from the Uttar Pradesh government.
He also laid the foundation for new block-cum-Anchal office buildings in Mohaniya, Adhaura, Chainpur, Rampur, Chand, Kudra, Bhagwanpur, and Noaon blocks.
The Chief Minister assured that construction on a Medical College & Hospital in Kaimur will commence shortly, addressing a long-standing request from locals and significantly enhancing healthcare facilities in the area.
The event was attended by Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Minority Welfare Minister Jama Khan, and other key leaders.
This initiative is anticipated to stimulate education, healthcare, and substantial infrastructural development in irrigation, transportation, and tourism sectors in Kaimur, especially in Naxal-affected areas.
