Karnataka BJP Chief Warns Congress: Act on Egg Attack Against MLA Munirathna or Face Repercussions

Bengaluru, Dec 25 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has demanded that the Congress-led state government take immediate action concerning the egg attack on party MLA N. Munirathna Naidu or be ready to encounter serious implications.

BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra stated, "Should the authorities fail to take stringent measures against the culprits who assaulted Munirathna and if there are attempts to sweep this issue under the rug, then the Congress government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, should brace itself for a fitting reaction. This serves as a warning I wish to convey."

"Currently, under the Congress administration, there exists a scenario where public representatives are left unprotected. Criminals are targeting BJP MLAs and launching attacks on them. The incident involving MLC C. T. Ravi at Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi was downplayed by the government, which has emboldened Congress-affiliated thugs to assault our MLA Munirathna today," Vijayendra emphasized.

He described this incident as exceedingly disgraceful and deserving of condemnation.

"If even the elected representatives, who ought to safeguard the populace, are not safe, it raises alarming questions regarding the security of ordinary citizens. It appears that Congress is leading the state toward a state of lawlessness and chaos," he criticized.

"Regardless of the allegations directed at MLA Munirathna, they must be resolved within the bounds of justice. However, the emergence of a scenario where an elected MLA is conspired against and attacked openly is a deeply troubling situation," Vijayendra remarked.

Earlier, an egg was thrown at BJP MLA N. Munirathna Naidu in Bengaluru on Wednesday morning, following which he held Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar responsible for the incident.

This attack happened as Munirathna, accompanied by a considerable number of supporters, arrived in Laxmidevinagar of RR Nagar Constituency to participate in an event commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Reports indicated that stones were thrown at his vehicle. He is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

Addressing the press, Munirathna said: "Deputy CM Shivakumar and his sibling, former Congress MP D. K. Suresh, orchestrated this attack as they intend to position local Congress leader Kusuma Hanumantarayappa as the MLA in my constituency."

"This was akin to an acid attack on me. The perpetrators had filled the egg with acid before launching it at me," MLA Munirathna claimed.

Previously, Munirathna was incarcerated in connection with an alleged rape and honey-trapping case, spending a month in Central Prison in Bengaluru before being granted bail.

Suresh accused Munirathna of attempting to infect his opponents with HIV and insisted that the government should investigate the allegations.
