Kalaburagi (Karnataka), April 19 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP, during the Janakrosh Yatra, on Friday, urged that whenever their party members encounter hardship or humiliation -- particularly when Hindus are insulted -- all party members must come together to safeguard them.
Addressing a significant gathering during the Janakrosh Yatra in Kalaburagi, the birthplace of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, State BJP President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra called upon district presidents and office bearers to recognize that the impending three years will be a period of relentless struggle.
"Wherever our BJP workers face pain or humiliation, especially when Hindu workers are insulted, all party members must stand united to defend them," Vijayendra emphasized.
"Let’s see if there is any true man left in Congress. There’s no need to fear," he stated, adding that BJP workers are not here for politics of compromise. Instead, they are committed to engaging in political activities year-round, beyond just election seasons, indirectly targeting the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Priyank Kharge, the son of Mallikarjun Kharge.
"As the State party President, I accept the challenge to ensure BJP’s victory in every Assembly constituency of Kalaburagi district," he asserted.
He declared, "Regardless of who stands in our way, every BJP worker possesses the strength to confront them. I urge all leaders to remain united."
He stressed that the affection and trust of party workers are invaluable.
"Despite the intense heat, thousands of workers and women have gathered in large numbers, making the Janakrosh Yatra a remarkable success. I am grateful for your love and trust," Vijayendra expressed.
He encouraged workers in Kalaburagi to remain optimistic, assuring them that "your Vijayendra is always with you".
He outlined that the Janakrosh Yatra is being conducted for three primary reasons.
He accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of completely forgetting the promises made prior to the Assembly elections aimed at establishing a "Ram Rajya".
He noted that the BJP initially expressed concern regarding the guarantee schemes during the Lok Sabha elections.
"The Congress government disbursed the guarantee funds merely a day or two before the voting," he remarked.
He chastised CM Siddaramaiah for treating the populace as beggars.
"While they announce free travel for women, they simultaneously suspend thousands of buses in rural areas," he lamented, highlighting that children from impoverished farming families are now unable to attend school and college due to the lack of bus services.
Vijayendra mentioned that the government owes Rs 6,500 crore to the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation but is incapable of providing the necessary funds.
He further criticized the rise in electricity rates by 36 paise per unit.
Referring to Minister Priyank Kharge’s promise to create employment opportunities for youth in Kalaburagi, Vijayendra revealed that Rs 4 crore of public funds were claimed to have been spent to generate jobs for one lakh youth.
"In reality, only 1,200 jobs were created through private companies. Spending Rs 4 crore for 1,200 jobs exemplifies the work culture of the state government," he stated.
The Legislative Council Opposition Leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, addressing the Janakrosh Yatra, accused the State Home Minister of never visiting Kalaburagi.
"It feels like there’s a separate law for this region — this is the 'Republic of Kalaburagi'", he commented.
He questioned, "Nowhere else in the state is there a zero-traffic protocol, yet it exists here. Isn’t this akin to a separate republic?"
He alleged, "Sand mafia activities are rampant in Chittapur, where under the guise of Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited, 700 to 800 truckloads of sand are being illegally transported to Maharashtra every day. Chittapur is the Assembly constituency of Minister Priyank Kharge."
"A daily business worth Rs 3 to 4 crore is occurring. Is this money flowing to Congress in Delhi? Is it going to CM Siddaramaiah? Or is it enriching your district ministers?" he inquired.
The event saw participation from former Minister B. Sriramulu, Council Chief Whip N. Ravikumar, MLAs Avinash Jadhav and Basavaraj Mattimood, former MP Umesh Jadhav, MLCs B.G. Patil and Sunil Valyapure, along with various district office bearers, mandal presidents, and party leaders.
