Bengaluru, April 9 (NationPress) The Karnataka II PUC (Class 12) board examination results were revealed on Thursday by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB).

This year, the overall pass rate reached 88.48%, with 5,46,698 students succeeding out of 6,32,200 candidates.

Notably, girls excelled, achieving a pass percentage of 88.70%, while boys recorded 83.65%.

In various streams, the pass rates were as follows: Arts at 72.86%, Commerce at 88.04%, and Science at an impressive 91.69%.

The Karnataka II PUC Examination-1 occurred statewide from February 28 to March 17 at 1,217 centres.

The assessment of answer scripts was performed by 27,739 evaluators across 68 centres from March 17 to April 2.

Regionally, rural students slightly surpassed their urban peers, with a pass percentage of 87.62% versus 85.95% in urban areas.

Among social categories, 80.22% of Scheduled Caste and 80.19% of Scheduled Tribe students passed, while 92.69% of general category students succeeded.

Students educated in Kannada medium had a pass rate of 76.41%, while their English medium counterparts achieved 90.63%.

Among 206 differently-abled candidates, 154 passed the exams.

Udupi district led the state with a 96.39% pass percentage, followed closely by Mangaluru at 96.35% and Madikeri at 92.34%.

In Bengaluru, the pass percentages were 90.05% in Bengaluru North, 90.55% in Bengaluru South, and 91% in Bengaluru Rural. Conversely, Yadgir district recorded the lowest pass rate at 71.21%.

Students can request photocopies of their answer scripts from April 10 to April 15, and download them from April 12 to April 17.

Requests for re-evaluation and recounting are accepted from April 13 to April 19, but only for those who have obtained photocopies.

The fees are Rs 530 per subject for photocopies and Rs 1,670 for re-evaluation.

In the Arts stream, Archana D.M. and Sangeeta from Indu PU College at Kottur (Ballari district), along with Shrusti from Smt. Veeramma Gangasiri College for Women in Kalaburagi, topped the Class 12 board exam with 598 out of 600 marks.

Fathimath Shahla, Mahmadayan Nadaf, Sanika Metagar, Shivanand Murageppa Burlatti, and Shravani Patil secured the second rank with 595 marks.

Shravani Patil, Akshata Chavan, Deeksha, Devamma Yadahalli, G.K. Sahana, Laxmi Shreekanth Nandur, Sakshi, Shrusti Chidanand Soloni, and Varuna J achieved the third rank with 594 marks.

In the Commerce stream, Aditi Prabhu of Sri Mahaveer Jain PU College at VV Puram in Bengaluru, and Disha of Alva's PU College at Moodabidari, both attained the first rank with a perfect 600 out of 600.

Dhwani Santosh Kulkarni of Gogte PU College of Commerce at Tilakwadi (Belagavi district), and Rachel D'Souza secured the second rank with 599 marks.

In the Science stream, Princilla Cardoza of The Learning Centre PU College at Anandanagar (Mangaluru district), achieved the first rank with 599 marks.

Several students, including Abhiram V. Bhat, Angel Tiwari, Ankit Bhimappa Karatagi, Dhanush Gutti, Meenakshi Unnithan, Nandan Nayak, Rakshita Manjunath Sanganapeth, Rashmi, Sai Raghav Vishvesh Marghasahayam, Samanyu Shetty, U. Shravani, and Vaibhavi Karkera, all earned the second rank with 598 marks.
