Key Takeaways
Srinagar, April 3 (NationPress) Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, the leader of the All India Imam Organisation, stated on Friday that following the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir has undergone significant transformation, positioning itself as a benchmark for the entire nation.
In a media interaction here, Ilyasi emphasized that the endeavors of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have resulted in the remarkable changes visible in today's Kashmir.
"Now, individuals who once threw stones are holding pens. The tourism sector is thriving, despite some setbacks after the Pahalgam terror incident," he noted.
"Kashmir is now a safe destination for everyone, and I urge all to visit. The tourism industry is recovering well, and the region is swiftly advancing towards progress," Ilyasi remarked.
He expressed admiration for the initiatives of Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, the Chief of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, stating that her efforts have opened his eyes and transformed Kashmir into a model for others.
Ilyasi warned the neighboring nation, Pakistan, that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) is destined to be united with Jammu and Kashmir.
"The residents of PoK are witnessing Kashmir's progress and are pleased. They desire a referendum to join India. By the grace of Allah, their 'Ghar Wapsi' (homecoming) is imminent," he asserted.
On the topic of the conflict in West Asia, the cleric stated that war brings harm to all parties involved, emphasizing, "It is detrimental to everyone."
He expressed hope that PM Modi would play a role in mediating the West Asia conflict and that peace would be restored soon.
Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi leads the All India Imam Organization, the world’s largest Imam body, representing half a million Imams across India.
He is recognized as a prominent interfaith leader, advocating for peace, dialogue, and a ‘Nation First’ philosophy.
