The opening of the doors was celebrated with elaborate religious ceremonies, accompanied by the chanting of Vedic hymns. Thousands of devotees gathered to witness this spiritually momentous occasion, creating a festive and devotional atmosphere.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been closely overseeing the pilgrimage preparations, reiterating his commitment to ensuring smooth travel and registration for the devotees.
During the event, he stated, “I visited Rishikesh, the initial stop of the Yatra, to assess the arrangements. We have communicated with stakeholders and instructed officials to maintain open lines of communication with pilgrims throughout their journey.”
He added, “Each year, we await the opening of Baba Kedarnath's doors with immense devotion. This year, the Char Dham Yatra began on April 30, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. I was fortunate to be present at the opening of the Ganga shrine in Gangotri, feeling blessed to partake in these divine moments. In just two days, the doors of Badrinath Dham will also be opened.”
Highlighting the contributions from the local community, the Chief Minister praised the logistics and transportation team, specifically acknowledging Himanshu Chamoli and his crew. “I commend Himanshu Chamoli and his entire team for ensuring effective transportation and adequate arrangements at the stations during the pilgrimage,” he remarked.
“The vendors along the pilgrimage paths play a crucial role in the Yatra, as it forms the backbone of their livelihood. Their contribution is vital to our state and region.”
This year, the Kedarnath Temple has been adorned in an unprecedented manner. The Pushp Samiti from Rishikesh and Gujarat has embellished the temple with a stunning 108 quintals of vibrant flowers, adding an enchanting aura of divine beauty and fragrance to the already majestic shrine, captivating all who visit.
