Kejriwal Alleges Conspiracy to Arrest CM Atishi

New Delhi, Dec 25 (NationPress) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal asserted on Wednesday that there are schemes to detain Delhi Chief Minister Atishi by fabricating charges against her in the coming days. He also indicated that raids on senior party officials are being organized in advance of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.

This assertion follows the Health and Family Welfare department of the national capital flagging the ruling AAP's registration campaign for the Sanjeevani Yojana, a program designed to offer complimentary medical treatment to residents over 60 at both private and public healthcare facilities. In a formal announcement published in newspapers on Wednesday, the department stated that it has no record of any such alleged Sanjeevani scheme in operation. Furthermore, it mentioned that it had not permitted anyone to gather personal information from elderly citizens and is not issuing any cards. The department emphasized that any individual or political entity collecting such forms under the guise of this scheme is acting fraudulently and without authorization.

Kejriwal alleged that Chief Minister Atishi is set to be apprehended in a fabricated case, as certain factions are disturbed by the AAP government's declaration of welfare programs like the Mahila Samman Yojana and the Sanjeevani Yojana.

“These individuals are extremely unsettled by the Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana. They have orchestrated the arrest of Atishi ji in the forthcoming days through a fabricated case. Prior to that, raids will be executed on senior AAP leaders. I will be addressing a press conference on this matter today at 12 o'clock,” Kejriwal detailed in a post on X.

The two AAP flagship initiatives -- Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana -- were unveiled ahead of the Delhi Assembly Elections scheduled for early next year. Kejriwal initiated the registration process for these two programs targeting women and senior citizens on Tuesday and conducted a door-to-door campaign.

Women eligible and not paying taxes will receive Rs 1,000 monthly through the Mahila Samman Yojana. The Sanjeevani Yojana guarantees free healthcare in both government and private hospitals for senior citizens if the AAP secures victory.

This development follows visits by AAP leaders, including Chief Minister Atishi and party convener Arvind Kejriwal, to numerous locations where they launched doorstep registration for the Sanjeevani Yojana and Mahila Samman Yojana.
