New Delhi, Oct 5 (NationPress) In a sharp response to AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal's recent declaration that there will be no alliance with the Congress for the upcoming 2027 Goa Assembly elections, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal accused him of engaging in opportunistic politics and changing his stance as frequently as a chameleon.

"Arvind Kejriwal changes colours like a chameleon. He is a master of opportunistic politics. When it's beneficial, he aligns with the Congress; when it suits him otherwise, he opposes them for political advantage. This inconsistency is why the public struggles to trust him," Khandelwal stated during a harsh critique on Sunday.

This statement followed Kejriwal's definitive rejection of any collaboration with the Congress, emphasizing, "There will be no alliance with the Congress under any circumstances."

Kejriwal also dismissed rumors that suggested some AAP members in Goa were considering a partnership with the Congress ahead of the elections.

During a press interaction after inaugurating a party office in Mayem, located 16 km from Panaji, Kejriwal articulated that the Congress party had significantly "let down and deceived the people of Goa."

He accused the Congress of having "supplied MLAs to the BJP in wholesale" and confirmed that AAP would contest the Goa elections independently.

In the meantime, Congress leader Udit Raj labeled Kejriwal a "habitual liar," claiming that AAP lacks moral integrity and is known for making "false" promises for political gain.

"Kejriwal had proclaimed he would not require security and would engage with the people of Delhi without any constraints. Yet, he later accepted security from both Delhi and Punjab. He constructed a lavish home based on deception. He even vowed on his children that he would never ally, but he did. His morals are questionable," Raj remarked.

Khandelwal highlighted that despite Kejriwal's efforts to distance himself from the Congress in Goa, AAP remains a part of the opposition coalition INDIA, which includes the Congress.

Meanwhile, regarding the forthcoming Chhath Puja celebrations in Delhi, Khandelwal announced, "This year, Chhath will be celebrated with immense enthusiasm and joy. Under the guidance of Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, the Delhi government will ensure all necessary facilities are provided. New ghats are being built so that devotees can perform their rituals conveniently."

Point of View

It is crucial to approach this situation with an unbiased lens. The accusations exchanged between political leaders reflect the complex dynamics of Indian politics. While Khandelwal's remarks highlight a common narrative of distrust in political figures, Kejriwal's stance on independence suggests a strategic move to consolidate AAP's position in Goa. The evolving landscape demands close attention as elections approach.
