KTR Challenges Revanth Reddy to Debate Formula E Race in Telangana Assembly

Hyderabad, December 18 (NationPress) K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has openly challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to commence a discussion about the Formula E race matter in the State Assembly.
Rejecting any claims of irregularities or corruption related to the Formula E race, the former minister expressed in a letter to the Chief Minister a strong desire for a debate on the topic.
KTR emphasized that the event generated significant goodwill for both the state and the city of Hyderabad, alleging that its cancellation was motivated purely by political revenge. He argues that a comprehensive discussion in the Assembly would unveil the reality to all.
The BRS Legislature Party also reached out to Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, requesting a debate on the Formula E race within the House.
In his correspondence to the Chief Minister, KTR accused the current government of making numerous unfounded allegations against the previous BRS administration, particularly targeting him, regarding the Formula E race for many months.
He noted, "Reports indicate that during the cabinet meeting led by you this week, this issue was discussed for about an hour and a half. Furthermore, there have been multiple leaks from the Chief Minister's Office to the media, suggesting the potential filing of cases related to this matter and asserting that the Governor has given approval," wrote KTR.
The BRS working president asserted that instead of secretive discussions, the facts surrounding this issue should be revealed to the four crore citizens of Telangana through a public debate in the State Assembly.
KTR maintained that the prior government had entered into an agreement with the Formula E race organizers with the honorable intention of benefiting the people of Telangana and enhancing the city of Hyderabad. The race took place successfully in 2023, receiving accolades from various sectors.
A Nielsen report indicated that the event injected approximately Rs 700 crore into the state's economy.
He stated, "While plans for another edition of the race were in place for 2024, your government abruptly canceled it as soon as you took office. Since then, your Congress administration has engaged in a campaign of misinformation about this race through the media, fostering unnecessary public skepticism as part of your political vendetta."
KTR alleged that the agreement for the Formula E race was entirely transparent, and all payments made to the organizers were clear and above board.
"The citizens of the state deserve to know the truth. Thus, I urge you to initiate a discussion on this issue in the Assembly. Let us lay out all the facts for the people of Telangana through the Assembly platform. As the Assembly session is currently ongoing, you can arrange this discussion at your earliest convenience," he wrote.
