Mumbai, Jan 10 (NationPress) With the excitement for the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections growing across Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde made a pivotal statement regarding the “Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana”. At a rally in Ghatkopar, Shinde assured women that the existing monthly support of Rs 1,500 is poised for an increase shortly.
While addressing attendees, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that the welfare initiative is a fundamental component of his administration.
“I initiated the Ladki Bahin Yojana during my term, and despite what the opposition asserts, this scheme will remain operational,” Shinde proclaimed. “Currently, our sisters receive Rs 1,500, but we are committed to raising this amount. We uphold the pledges made in our manifesto. Our vision is to empower our sisters to become self-sufficient and ‘Lakhpatis’ (millionaires),” he stated.
In addition to financial support, Shinde addressed urban development, particularly the Cluster Housing Scheme in Ghatkopar. He assured that every family, irrespective of their “eligible or ineligible” status, would receive a proper home. He guaranteed that the Urban Development Department would ensure adequate funding for these housing initiatives.
In related news, State Minister and BJP leader Girish Mahajan confirmed that the government is accelerating payments for the festive season. In celebration of Makar Sankranti, the state government will deposit a total of Rs 3,000 (covering the months of December and January) into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin Yojana. These funds will be transferred before January 14.
Mahajan reiterated that the Mahayuti government, led by Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde, is dedicated to the economic empowerment of women. This initiative is viewed as a significant outreach effort by the ruling Mahayuti alliance to strengthen its support among women voters ahead of the vital municipal elections.
