Maharashtra CM Confirms Increase of Ladki Bahin Yojana Aid to Rs 2100

Mumbai, Dec 5 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday declared that the state government will persist with the execution of the prominent Ladki Bahin Yojana and is dedicated to realizing its commitment of boosting monthly support to Rs 2,100 from the current Rs 1,500.

During his inaugural press briefing after resuming the role of Chief Minister at Mantralaya, Fadnavis stated that the government will investigate whether the financial assistance under the Ladki Bahin Yojana was extended to individuals who did not meet the established criteria.

He suggested that the government would prioritize fulfilling numerous promises made to the populace ahead of the recent state assembly elections. The administration has allocated Rs 46,000 crore for the Ladki Bahin Yojana in the 2024-25 budget, and in November, it deposited Rs 7,500 (covering July to November) in the accounts of over 2.34 crore eligible women beneficiaries.

Fadnavis made it clear that other welfare and developmental initiatives will also proceed without disruptions.

“I wish to reassure the populace that Maharashtra will have a government focused on the people, a government that will embrace all communities. Challenges may arise, but we shall advance by overcoming them. I appeal for support in these endeavors. I want to assure the 14 crore residents of Maharashtra that this government is committed to transparency and serving the people,” he articulated.

Fadnavis emphasized that the government would prioritize the implementation of interlinking rivers and accelerating the Jalyukt Shivar Yojana to make Maharashtra free from drought.

Fadnavis acknowledged that even though MahaYuti has achieved a historic victory, the government will remain open to the opposition's views.

“We will not appraise opponents based on their numbers. Our aim is not to engage in a politics of change, but a politics that results in change. We will not engage in vindictive politics. Should the opposition raise valid concerns, the government will honor and respond positively to them. We anticipate five years of a fully stable government. The public has granted us a majority, and they expect a stable administration for Maharashtra. The challenges faced until 2022 should not recur,” he commented.

Fadnavis refuted media speculation regarding differences with Eknath Shinde, stating that he accepted the role of Deputy Chief Minister at Shinde's request.

“Even if the roles have shifted, the government's course remains unchanged. There will be effective coordination among the MahaYuti partners,” he affirmed.

He praised Eknath Shinde for leading a proactive government for two and a half years.

“In two and a half years, Maharashtra has accelerated its development trajectory. The state will not halt but will achieve new heights. Maharashtra will maintain its preeminence in all sectors. The state has reclaimed its leading position in attracting foreign direct investment, surpassing Gujarat and Karnataka,” Fadnavis remarked.

“In our first cabinet meeting, we conveyed to the officials that when Eknath Shinde and I initially took office, we played a 50-over match. After Ajit Pawar joined the MahaYuti, it became a 20-20 match. Now, we are in a test match, and the state must advance by progressing existing and forthcoming schemes,” concluded Fadnavis.
