Bhopal, Aug 7 (NationPress) On Thursday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the monthly cash incentive for eligible women beneficiaries under the highly discussed Ladli Behna Yojana.

During an event in Rajgarh district, CM Yadav digitally credited Rs 1,250 into the bank accounts of over 1.26 crore women participating in this scheme.

In celebration of the upcoming Raksha Bandhan on August 9, the Chief Minister also provided an additional Rs 250 as a bonus to each beneficiary.

This results in a total of Rs 1,500 being disbursed to each recipient this month.

Additionally, the Chief Minister announced an extra Rs 450 to every woman beneficiary enrolled in the Ujjwala Yojana, aimed at subsidizing cooking gas.

After the transfers, CM Yadav expressed his desire to receive the blessings of all 'Behna' (sisters) to help him uphold his commitments to the people of Madhya Pradesh.

"During this Raksha Bandhan, I seek the blessings of our sisters," stated CM Yadav.

He emphasized that his administration intends to maintain the programs introduced by the previous BJP government for the welfare of the state's citizens.

He also reaffirmed that the monthly assistance under the Ladli Behna Yojana will be raised to Rs 1,500 from the previous Rs 1,250.

"As previously announced, the monthly support for beneficiaries under the Ladli Behna Yojana will gradually increase. By the time Bhai Dooj follows this Diwali, our sisters will receive Rs 1,500 monthly," Yadav added.

It is significant to note that the Ladli Behna Yojana was launched on June 10, 2023, in Jabalpur by the former Shivraj Singh Chouhan administration, initially offering a monthly support of Rs 1,000 to each beneficiary.

This initiative was credited as a key factor in the BJP's remarkable victory in the 2023 assembly elections.

The practice of giving a Rs 250 bonus during Raksha Bandhan was first established by ex-CM Chouhan, who currently serves as the Union Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Cabinet.
