Leaders Extend Greetings to the People of Nagaland on Statehood Day

Kohima, Dec 1 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, along with numerous dignitaries, conveyed their wishes to the people of Nagaland on the occasion of their Statehood Day this Sunday.
In a vibrant celebration, Nagaland is marking its 62nd anniversary as a state on this day with various colorful events and competitions.
In her message on X, President Murmu expressed: “Greetings to the people of Nagaland on Statehood Day. Rich in biodiversity, Nagaland is also a land characterized by valor.”
“The development achievements of Nagaland are commendable. I wish the people of this beautiful state a future that is peaceful, prosperous, and progressive,” she added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his greetings: “Happy Statehood Day to the people of Nagaland. The state is renowned for its rich culture and the warm-hearted nature of its people. The spirit of duty and compassion defines Naga culture. I pray for Nagaland’s ongoing progress in the future.”
“Warm wishes to our Naga brothers and sisters on Nagaland Day. With a glorious culture and heritage, Nagaland exemplifies the diversity within Bharat's rich cultural fabric,” he further stated.
Home Minister Amit Shah shared his hopes for the state: “I pray for Nagaland to thrive under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Neiphiu Rio Ji.”
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also took to X to convey: “Best wishes to the people of Nagaland on their Statehood Day. Nagaland symbolizes India's unity in diversity, celebrating the rich heritage of its indigenous tribes and their enduring spirit.”
“May this day enhance harmony, safeguard cultural identity, and facilitate ongoing progress and understanding,” he added.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister and BJP national President Jagat Prakash Nadda also extended his greetings on this significant occasion.
Nadda remarked on X: “On Nagaland’s Statehood Day, I send my warmest regards to all my brothers and sisters from this vibrant state. Recognized as the ‘Land of Festivals,’ the state is graced with stunning landscapes, rich traditions, and deep cultural roots. May Nagaland continue to achieve new milestones in development, and may its people enjoy good health and prosperity.”
During the Statehood Day celebrations in Kohima, the Chief Minister reiterated the importance of peace for development and development for peace.
“Let us commit ourselves to promoting unity, inclusivity, and empowering our youth,” Rio stated.
Chief Ministers from various states, particularly from the northeastern region, also conveyed their greetings to the people of Nagaland on this day.
Nagaland was officially recognized as the 16th state of the Indian Union on December 1, 1963.
