Madhya Pradesh Government Commemorates the Martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh's Sons on 'Veer Bal Diwas'

Bhopal, Dec 27 (NationPress) 'Veer Bal Diwas' was celebrated in Madhya Pradesh, where the state administration paid tribute to the remarkable valor and sacrifice of the sons of Guru Gobind Singh, who stood for justice, truth, and righteousness.
During this significant occasion, members of the Sikh community, along with others, visited gurudwaras and participated in various programs organized by government departments and citizens throughout the state to pay their respects to Guru Gobind Singh.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and several senior leaders from the BJP, including Cabinet ministers, took part in ceremonies in their respective regions, honoring Guru Gobind Singh and his four sons.
The Chief Minister paid a visit to a Gurudwara located on Hamidia Road in Bhopal and offered his prayers.
Later, he attended a state-organized event at Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal to honor Guru Gobind Singh and his martyred sons.
"Guru Gobind Singh and his entire family sacrificed their lives to defend religion and culture. The tales of your valor, courage, and bravery will eternally inspire us Indians to sacrifice everything for the protection of religion and service to humanity," remarked CM Yadav.
State BJP President V.D. Sharma and the party's organization secretary Hitanand Sharma accompanied CM Yadav.
The Madhya Pradesh government has also decided to incorporate the narratives of Guru Gobind Singh's sons' bravery into the school curriculum to educate children.
In response to the state's decision to include chapters regarding the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh's sons, Harvinder Singh from the Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee on Hamidia Road, Bhopal, stated, "This is a commendable step by the Madhya Pradesh government. The Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh sacrificed their lives for humanity and dharma. It teaches us to respect our dharma."
Gurveer Singh, another member of the Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, told IANS, "We appreciate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative to observe 'Veer Bal Diwas' on December 26. However, we would like to request the government to rename it 'Veer Shahjada Diwas' instead of 'Veer Bal Diwas'. Because 'Bal' (child) cannot sacrifice at this level, only Sahibzadas can."
'Veer Bal Diwas' is commemorated on December 26 to honor the martyrdom of Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, the youngest sons of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru.
At the tender ages of 9 and 6, these courageous sons displayed immense bravery by refusing to abandon their faith in the face of extreme persecution.
On this day, individuals share images, quotes, and posters to commemorate the occasion.
Educational institutions across the state, as well as the nation, also host speech competitions for students to celebrate the day.
On January 9, 2022, Prime Minister Modi declared that December 26 would be designated as Veer Bal Diwas.
This marks the first instance in India's history that a national day has been dedicated to honoring the courage and sacrifice of children.
