New Delhi/Bhopal, Dec 18 (NationPress) A delegation of MPs from Madhya Pradesh paid a courtesy visit to Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia at his parliamentary office on Thursday, aiming to discuss the enhancement of party strength at the grassroots level across the state.
Among the BJP MPs present were former Madhya Pradesh BJP president and Khajuraho MP V. D. Sharma, along with Jabalpur MP Ashish Dube, Bhopal MP Alok Sharma, Ujjain MP Anil Firoziya, and others.
Joining them were Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uike, MP from Betul, and first-time MP from Sidhi Rajesh Mishra.
During their discussions, the BJP leaders focused on further strengthening the organization in Madhya Pradesh, where the party has maintained power for over two decades, with the exception of an 18-month Congress rule from 2018 to 2019.
“A constructive and insightful dialogue took place regarding enhancing the organization, boosting regional development, and addressing public welfare issues. We are dedicated to advancing the interests of both the state and the nation,” Scindia, who represents Guna, shared on X.
The MPs convened for this courtesy visit amid the ongoing Winter session of Parliament, which commenced on December 1.
It is noteworthy that Madhya Pradesh has a total of 29 Lok Sabha seats, all of which were won by the BJP in 2024, an increase from 28 in 2019, when Scindia, then with Congress, was defeated by BJP's KP Yadav from his own constituency, Guna.
Later, Scindia left Congress in 2020, contested under the BJP's banner, and won with a significant majority.
Currently serving as the Union Minister of Communications and the Minister of Development of the North Eastern Region, Scindia is set to visit Indore for several events on Friday.
