Bhopal, March 23 (NationPress) The government of Madhya Pradesh has executed a reshuffle involving 15 senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including those overseeing administrative and training sectors.

The administration has appointed Yogesh Deshmukh, a 1995 batch IPS officer, as the new Director General of the Special Police Establishment (SPE) Lokayukta for the Madhya Pradesh Police.

He succeeds Jaydeep Prashad, also a 1995 batch IPS officer, who has been designated as the Additional Director General (ADG) of the State Crime Record Bureau (SCRB).

Adarsh Katiyar, a 1992 batch IPS officer, previously serving as Special Director General of Police (Telecommunication), is now appointed as Special Director General (Administration).

Sonali Mishra, the Additional Director General (ADG) of Training, has now been assigned as ADG (Selection and Recruitment) for the state police.

The 1992 batch IPS officer Sonali Mishra was previously overseeing the Madhya Pradesh Police Academy in Bhounri.

The reshuffle list was released by the Home Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government.

According to the announcement, Rakesh Singh, a 2010 batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the new DIG of the Rewa range, replacing Saket Prakash Pandey, a 2009 batch IPS officer.

This reshuffle follows a violent incident in Mauganj district, located in the Rewa division, where an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and a civilian lost their lives due to mob violence on March 15, resulting in injuries to six other police personnel.

This marks the first significant reshuffle of senior IPS officers in Madhya Pradesh since August 2024, when 26 IPS officers were transferred.
