Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Pays Homage to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

Thane (Maharashtra), Dec 6 (NationPress) In observance of Mahaparinirvan Diwas on Friday, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde adorned the statue of Bharat Ratna Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the esteemed chief architect of the Indian Constitution, located in the Court Naka area.

Mahaparinirvan Diwas is commemorated every year on December 6 to honor the death anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Dr. Ambedkar, a highly respected leader, thinker, and reformer, devoted his life to advocating for equality and the elimination of caste-based discrimination.

This day holds deep significance as a tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's groundbreaking legacy.

According to Buddhist texts, the death of Lord Buddha is termed Mahaparinirvan, a Sanskrit word meaning 'nirvana after death'. Parinirvan symbolizes liberation from Samara, karma, and the cycle of life and death. It is regarded as the most sacred day in the Buddhist calendar.

Previously, Shinde extended his congratulations to Devendra Fadnavis for taking the oath as Chief Minister, expressing his full support for the BJP leader and commitment to cooperating in the governance of the state.

He remarked that the MahaYuti government represents the interests of the common populace.

"Devendra Fadnavis has taken the oath in a historic swearing-in ceremony. I congratulate him. Maharashtra is a state that provides ideological guidance to the nation, and I, hailing from a humble farmer family, have been granted the opportunity to serve as the CM of such a state due to the blessings of Balasaheb Thackeray. PM Narendra Modi has also backed us entirely, providing us with substantial strength. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has equally stood behind us, which is why we have accomplished so much in 2.5 years, making numerous historic decisions," Shinde shared with reporters.

Following his oath-taking as Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde offered a garland to the statue of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray in Colaba.

Shinde also made a visit to Anand Dighe Math in Thane.

NCP leader Ajit Pawar also took the oath as Deputy Chief Minister on Thursday.

Fadnavis, Shinde, and Pawar collectively paid their respects to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Mantralaya in Mumbai.
