We Will Govern in Accordance with Constitutional Provisions: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, Dec 6 (NationPress) Amid the opposition's claims of a 'change in the Constitution' against the BJP-led government at the Centre, newly elected Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday emphasized that governance will be conducted in accordance with the Constitution.

Following his assumption of office, Fadnavis, during his inaugural public appearance, honored Ambedkar at Chaityabhoomi. The CM stated, "Whatever we do will align with constitutional provisions. The development of marginalized sections of society will be our top priority."

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and in the presence of Governor C.P. Radhakrishna, CM Fadnavis paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Chaityabhoomi, where a large number of Ambedkar's followers gathered to pay their respects.

He remarked, "India is thriving due to the Constitution crafted by Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Ambedkar. Our Constitution is the most remarkable and finest in the world, designed with the fundamental objective of socio-economic transformation for the average citizen. Hence, any solution to problems can be found within the Constitution."

Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, in his address, stated that the Constitution has been honored the most during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government at the Centre. "During the Lok Sabha elections, our government faced significant criticism from the opposition for allegedly attempting to alter the Constitution. However, under PM Modi, the Constitution has been respected the most," he said.

"I always assert that a worker from a humble background can achieve this position due to Babasaheb's Constitution. A person from an ordinary family can become Prime Minister, and a tribal woman can become President, all thanks to Babasaheb's Constitution. His Constitution keeps leaders vigilant and accountable. I have dedicated the last two and a half years to the welfare and progress of all communities," added Dy CM Shinde. He further announced that the Mahayuti government intends to establish a constitutional temple in every tehsil and district across Maharashtra.

Dy CM Ajit Pawar mentioned that Babasaheb Ambedkar's ideology and the Indian Constitution will serve as guiding principles for governance and various initiatives. "Previously, while serving in the state cabinet, we ensured that our decisions reflect public welfare, focusing on enhancing the lives of the underprivileged and marginalized groups in our state," he noted.

In the meantime, the Governor unveiled the book 'Dr. Basaheb Ambedkar Bhartiya Prajasattak Sakarnara Mahamanav', authored by former MP and economist Dr. Narendra Jadhav.
