Mumbai, March 17 (NationPress) In his first interactive session with Vice-Chancellors since taking office, Maharashtra's Governor and Chancellor of State Public Universities, Jishnu Dev Varma, engaged with university leaders via video conferencing from Lok Bhavan, Mumbai.

The Governor urged Vice-Chancellors to enhance their institutions' national rankings and to establish clear, periodic targets for improvement.

To boost the Gross Enrolment Ratio in universities, he highlighted the necessity for schools to strengthen outreach initiatives that inspire students to further their education.

He encouraged universities to launch innovative strategies under the 'School Connect' program and insisted they adopt creative methodologies during implementation.

The 'Swayamsiddha' initiative, aimed at promoting women's empowerment and employability through skill education, was emphasized as crucial, requiring serious attention from universities.
