Mumbai, Sep 9 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, inaugurated the seventh disbursement of the 'Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Kisan Yojana' on Tuesday. This initiative will see a total of Rs 1892.61 crore deposited into the bank accounts of 91,65,156 farmers across the state.
The Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Kisan Yojana was established similarly to the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to provide financial security for farmers by offering Rs 6,000 each year. This amount is in addition to the Rs 6,000 provided annually under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
Farmers eligible for both initiatives in Maharashtra receive a total of Rs 12,000 each year.
This seventh disbursement includes subsidies for the duration from April 2025 to July 2025 and is particularly crucial for farmers affected by significant rainfall.
To date, six instalments have been distributed to farmer beneficiaries under the state’s Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Kisan Yojana. The government has reported that 930,9000 farmers have benefited from a total subsidy of Rs 11,130 crore across these six instalments.
Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne emphasized that the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Kisan Yojana plays a vital role in boosting farmers' incomes, helping them cover production costs, and fostering sustainable agriculture.
“This scheme is designed to provide farmers with financial support annually. So far, the aid has been deposited directly into the accounts of thousands of farmers throughout the state via six instalments. After the distribution of the seventh instalment, the number of beneficiaries will increase further. This initiative is reinforcing the economy in rural regions,” the minister stated.
