Mumbai, March 27 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, announced on Friday that the state government is committed to ensuring accessible and high-quality healthcare services within a 5-8 km radius of every citizen's residence. He emphasized the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in improving measures for TB control, maternal and child health, and overall primary healthcare.

During his keynote speech at the 'PULSE – Platform for Unified Learning, Skills, Health, and Education' conference, the Chief Minister highlighted a three-tier approach to cancer treatment: focusing on diagnosis at the district level, treatment at the regional level, and advanced care at apex centers.

“Quality healthcare is increasingly available in rural settings through innovations like telemedicine and e-Sanjeevani. A proposal is underway to establish the Indian Institute of Public Health in Nagpur, which will play a pivotal role in public health, research, and strategic planning,” he noted.

CM Fadnavis articulated his vision for Maharashtra to emerge as a global leader in medical wellness tourism. In alignment with the 'Viksit Maharashtra 2047' initiative, he sees the health sector as a critical hub for investment, innovation, and economic advancement, all while upholding social responsibility. He expressed confidence that Maharashtra will proactively shape the future of healthcare and set new standards.

He further asserted that the 'PULSE' conference will chart the trajectory of Maharashtra's healthcare system for the next decade.

This initiative focuses on integrating quality, consistency, and affordability in healthcare and medical education. He is optimistic that the experts participating in the conference will instigate transformative changes in the health sector, impacting not just Maharashtra but also at the national and global stage. He emphasized that advancements in the health sector have transitioned from being optional to essential.

Minister of State for Public Health Madhuri Misal stated that the conference is crucial as it will address topics such as digital health, Artificial Intelligence (AI), reforms in medical education, skill development, research and innovation, and the fortification of rural and public health systems.

To fulfill the vision of holistic state development and a 'Viksit Maharashtra 2047,' it is vital to strengthen the rural healthcare framework to be more technology-driven; this conference will be instrumental in that endeavor.

She added that the initiative aims to create a unified platform for healthcare services, medical education, research, the pharmaceutical industry, startups, and wellness tourism.
