Kolkata, August 15 (NationPress) On the occasion of Independence Day, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee participated in the tea ceremony at Raj Bhavan, hosted by Governor C.V. Ananda Bose on Friday.
CM Banerjee arrived at Raj Bhavan at 5 p.m. alongside West Bengal Legislative Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee, State Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, and State Home Secretary Nandini Chakraborty.
Shortly thereafter, Left Front Chairman Biman Bose and senior Congress leader Pradeep Bhattacharya entered Raj Bhavan in response to the Governor's invitation.
All leaders from various political factions exchanged traditional greetings with the Chief Minister. As is customary, a small tea gathering was hosted at Raj Bhavan this year as well.
Prominent musician Usha Uthup was also present with the Chief Minister, and they were graciously welcomed by Governor Bose and his wife.
Every year, the Chief Minister is invited to this tea party at Raj Bhavan on Independence Day evening, along with members from different political parties. In adherence to tradition, the Chief Minister also partakes in this event.

In his address, Governor C.V. Anand Bose commemorated the sacrifices made by freedom fighters, reminding the guests, "This day is not merely a celebration but a day of responsibility."
Upon her departure from Raj Bhavan, Mamata Banerjee remarked to reporters, "Independence Day is a celebration for all of us. Political divisions have no role today. This is a day for unity."
