The CM instructed officials to expedite the Metro construction while ensuring minimal inconvenience to the public and promoting smooth traffic management during the process.
He emphasized the importance of developing sustainable infrastructure through well-thought-out planning that benefits the community.
This project will establish a medium Metro, operating on a standard gauge system.
Additionally, the Metro will utilize CBTC (communication-based train control), achieving maximum speeds of 80 km/h.
Initially, the Metro will feature three coaches, with plans to expand this to six coaches in the future. The construction will also include the development of five underpasses and flyovers.
The detailed project report for the Metro line linking Millennium City to Cyber City has been approved by both the Haryana and Central governments. The project was inaugurated with a foundation stone laying ceremony by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 16, 2024 in Rewari.
The meeting highlighted that the Metro rail line, spanning 28.50 km, will consist of 27 stations, including key stops such as Millennium City Centre, Sector-45, Cyber Park, and Udyog Vihar Phase-6.
To support the establishment of this Metro project, Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) is in the process of selecting qualified candidates for 20 essential positions based on their respective departments' rules.
Progress on the initial package for geotechnical investigations has been completed, while work on civil, architectural, and electrical systems has commenced.
Tenders for appointing consultants for the depot and for the first civil package (from Millennium City Centre to Sector-9 and Sector-101 Dwarka, about 13 km) will be issued by January 31, with a second civil package tender to follow by February 15.
An executive committee and a coordination committee have also been established to ensure the efficient execution of the Metro expansion project.
The meeting also addressed the BJP's manifesto commitment to create 10 industrial cities. The Panchgram scheme and the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway were also topics of discussion, with plans for future decisions.
The Chief Minister directed officials to develop these cities in proximity to major highways, focusing on employment opportunities and facilitating investments.
These new cities will encompass various activities, including industrial, residential, and commercial developments.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also instructed that applications from investors in Haryana should be processed swiftly, with a designated nodal officer assigned to streamline approvals and minimize bureaucratic delays.
