Aizawl, Feb 1 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, is set to unveil the state’s Budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026 in the Assembly on March 4, as confirmed by an official on Friday.
The Assembly's Budget Session will kick off on February 19 following the traditional address by Governor Gen Vijay Kumar Singh (retd).
Officials from the Mizoram Assembly indicated that the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), led by Speaker Lalbiakzama, has outlined the detailed agenda for the session, which is scheduled to extend until March 20.
Lalduhoma, who also manages the Finance department, will present the state budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 on March 4. This marks the second budget he will introduce in the House since the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) assumed power in December 2023.
Earlier this week, the Governor convened the fourth session of the 9th Assembly of Mizoram, scheduled to commence on February 19.
In another development, the Mizoram Governor visited the Border Security Force (BSF) Sector Headquarters at Durtlang North in Aizawl on Friday, where he engaged with para-military officers and personnel.
During this visit, the Governor commended the BSF's commitment to protecting the India-Bangladesh border.
He emphasized the necessity for ongoing vigilance to safeguard India's security and encouraged BSF members to execute their responsibilities with the highest degree of commitment. Additionally, he highlighted the significance of public safety and called for more stringent oversight of illicit cross-border activities.
The Governor also praised the BSF's Civic Action Programme and motivated them to continue this well-regarded initiative with full dedication.
