Delhi CM Rekha Gupta inaugurates Jan Seva Connect post office at Nehru Place
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday, 7 May attended the inauguration of the redeveloped 'Jan Seva Connect' post office at Nehru Place, New Delhi, alongside Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani. The event marks the launch of an ambitious nationwide drive to modernise 25,000 post offices across India, with the national capital serving as the starting point.
What the Jan Seva Connect Initiative Entails
The redeveloped post office is part of the Centre's plan to transform India's postal network into multi-purpose public service hubs. Citizens can now access banking facilities, savings schemes, Aadhaar-related services, passport services, and a range of digital facilities under one roof. Officials noted that disbursements and service delivery will be streamlined through upgraded digital infrastructure at these centres.
