Paris/New Delhi, March 5 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday, where they addressed their common concerns regarding the escalating circumstances in West Asia.
"Had a fruitful discussion with my friend President Emmanuel Macron today. We examined our mutual concerns about the changing dynamics in West Asia and emphasized the necessity for renewed dialogue and diplomacy. We are committed to working together and coordinating actions to swiftly restore peace and stability in the region," Prime Minister Modi shared on X following their call.
Earlier that day, during a press conference with Finland's President Alexander Stubb, PM Modi underscored that the globe is currently experiencing a period of instability and uncertainty, noting that numerous areas from Ukraine to West Asia are still confronted with conflict.
"Both India and Finland uphold the principles of the rule of law, dialogue, and diplomacy. We agree that no problem can be resolved through military means alone. Whether concerning Ukraine or West Asia, we will persist in supporting every initiative aimed at swiftly ending conflict and restoring peace," stated PM Modi.
In recent days, PM Modi has communicated with the top officials of Qatar, UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait as India maintains close contact with the governments in the region and other vital partners regarding the ongoing turmoil in Iran and the Gulf region.
During these discussions, Prime Minister Modi has strongly reiterated the urgent necessity to restore peace and stability in the area through dialogue and diplomacy.
Recently, PM Modi and Macron met at the AI Impact Summit held in New Delhi.
On Wednesday, PM Modi also expressed gratitude to Macron for his Holi wishes.
The exchange commenced with President Macron posting a brief message in Hindi on X: "Happy Holi, my friend!"
In response, Prime Minister Modi thanked the French President and conveyed his wishes in French.
“Merci beaucoup, mon ami! À l'occasion de la fête sacrée de Holi, je vous adresse, à vous et au peuple de France, mes vœux sincères de bonheur et de prospérité.”
