New Delhi, Feb 3 (NationPress) Just two days ahead of the Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a candid conversation with students in Delhi, criticizing the AAP government for purportedly retaining ‘underperforming’ Class 9 students to protect its reputation.

During a video interaction with a group of students, PM Modi highlighted the unethical practice of the AAP government, accusing them of 'punishing' struggling students by withholding their promotion to Class 10.

"I have been informed that in Delhi, after Class 9, students are not advanced to the subsequent class. Only those students who are certain to pass the next class exam receive promotions because their performance could negatively impact the government's image. This is a very dishonest practice," he stated.

In the video shared on social media, PM Modi criticized the much-touted educational framework of the AAP government, raising concerns about AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and his team 'endangering the future' of students merely to create a façade of a world-class education system.

The Prime Minister's revelations regarding the AAP government’s education policy coincided with Home Minister Amit Shah launching his own attacks on the ruling party during an election rally in Jangpura on Monday.

HM Amit Shah condemned the AAP government at a public rally, accusing it of a Rs 1,300 crore scam related to classroom construction and urged the populace to oust both Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, whom he labeled corrupt ‘Bade miyan, chote miyan’.

It is worth noting that the BJP aims to break a 27-year absence from power in the capital and is attempting to attract low-income and middle-class voters by introducing ambitious plans for free education from KG to PG.

The BJP’s Sankalp Patra for the February 5 elections also pledges Rs 15,000 aid for underprivileged students preparing for competitive examinations like the Union Public Service Commission and other state civil service tests.

The party has also vowed to cover travel and application fees for students twice, branding it as ‘Modi ki guarantee’.

To attract first-time and young voters, the BJP plans to introduce the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Scheme, offering Rs 1,000/month for SC students in ITI, skill centers, and polytechnics.

Voting for the new 70-member Assembly is scheduled for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8.
