PM Modi Critiques AAP Government's Vision for Delhi's Development

New Delhi, Jan 5 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday delivered a pointed criticism of the AAP government in Delhi, referring to it as an 'AAPda government' that is lacking in vision for the city's advancement.
During a large rally in Rohini, just before the Delhi Assembly elections, the Prime Minister claimed that all major developmental initiatives in the national capital have been executed by the BJP-led central government.
While the crowd chanted 'Delhi mei bahane nahi, badlav chahiye; BJP ki sarkaar chahiye' (Delhi needs change, not excuses; it wants a BJP government), they greeted the Prime Minister with great enthusiasm.
PM Modi stressed the significance of the next 25 years for both India and Delhi, asserting, 'The coming 25 years are crucial for India's journey to becoming a Viksit Bharat' (developed nation). He emphasized that for India to reach this goal, it is essential for Delhi to progress simultaneously.
He called on the citizens of Delhi to provide the BJP a chance for a brighter future, asserting that only the BJP can facilitate genuine development in the capital.
Pointing out the BJP's governance achievements, PM Modi remarked, 'In the last decade, Delhi has experienced a government that is nothing short of an AAPda' (disaster). Today, the residents of Delhi are demanding change with the sentiment, 'AAPda nahi sahenge; badal ke rahenge' (We won’t tolerate disaster; we will bring change).
PM Modi highlighted the BJP as a party committed to good governance and a nation-first ideology, referencing its accomplishments in states such as Odisha, Maharashtra, and the Northeast, as well as at the national level.
He encouraged BJP volunteers to engage with the residents of Delhi and demonstrate the party's dedication to development, dubbing this election a 'golden opportunity to win the hearts of Delhi.'
He reiterated his vision for transforming Delhi into one of the world's leading cities equipped with world-class amenities.
'Last year, the Centre allocated over Rs 75,000 crore for health and development projects in Delhi.' We aim to make Delhi a capital that embodies India's heritage and pride,' he declared.
The Prime Minister noted that the expansion of Delhi's metro system, including the Namo Bharat Train, the Janakpuri-Krishna Park stretch of Delhi Metro Phase-IV, and the Rithala-Kundli corridor, are all initiatives driven by the Centre. He underscored the PM Awas Yojana, highlighting the Swabhimaan Apartment in Ashok Nagar as a 'Modi ki guarantee' for affordable housing.
PM Modi also enumerated achievements such as Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi, Kartavya Path, and the National War Memorial, which have become pride symbols for Delhi, attributing their establishment to the Centre's efforts.
He criticized the AAP government for squandering a decade, alleging mismanagement in areas like sanitation, public transport, and law and order.
'Delhi suffers whenever these people are in power,' he remarked, pointing to problems in unclean neighborhoods and unsafe environments.
Addressing the recent debate regarding the Delhi Chief Minister's residence, referred to as 'Sheesh Mahal' by the BJP, PM Modi accused the AAP of favoring luxury over public welfare.
'While people were struggling during the COVID-19 crisis, they were busy constructing their Sheesh Mahal. This demonstrates their indifference towards Delhi's citizens,' he stated.
The Prime Minister further accused the AAP of failing to implement central welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat for political motives, depriving Delhi's residents of essential benefits.
'Intention, decision, loyalty, and policy are crucial in politics. However, there are significant questions regarding their intention and loyalty.' PM Modi added that senior AAP leaders are currently implicated in various scandals.
The rally was attended by prominent BJP figures, including Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva, MPs Manoj Tiwari, Bansuri Swaraj, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, and Ramesh Bidhuri.
Outside the venue, replicas of the Delhi Chief Minister's residence, labeled 'Sheesh Mahal,' were displayed, underscoring the BJP's critique of the AAP government.
