New Delhi, Feb 2 (NationPress) Targeting AAP leaders for disseminating falsehoods and engaging in corruption, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday assured that no slum in election-bound Delhi would be demolished and that existing welfare programs would continue once a BJP government is established following the February 5 Assembly elections.
Speaking at a rally in R.K. Puram, PM Modi emphasized that voters have a remarkable opportunity to elect a BJP government in Delhi after 25 years, urging them to ensure a historic victory margin.
With the slogan ‘AAPda ko hatayenge, BJP ko layenge’, PM Modi called for a collaborative effort to transform Delhi into a ‘viksit’ capital of ‘Viksit Bharat’.
The resolute PM stated that the corrupt members of AAP will face consequences for their actions, highlighting provisions in the Union Budget 2025-26 aimed at supporting middle-class taxpayers, advancing development in Purvanchal states like Bihar, and aiding women entrepreneurs and young job seekers.
He also reminded women voters in Delhi about the promised Rs 2,500 monthly financial aid from the BJP, asserting that they would begin receiving funds in their bank accounts before March 8—International Women’s Day.
Identifying himself as an MP from Purvanchal, PM Modi noted the challenges the community faces in celebrating Chhath in Delhi under the AAPda government.
Labeling the AAP administration as anti-Purvanchali, he accused its leaders of spreading lies during Covid and pushing Purvanchalis to leave the city instead of providing assistance.
PM Modi praised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for unveiling various development projects for Purvanchal states like Bihar and West Bengal in the Budget.
“These AAPda leaders are upset over the Budget as it has rolled out several initiatives for Purvanchal states. I assure Purvanchalis that the BJP government will be there for them, whether in Delhi or Bihar,” he stated.
“The Congress leaders criticize me when I discuss the welfare and development of Dalits. The NDA government in Bihar is committed to serving its people, and the Union Budget has proposed the establishment of a ‘Makhana Board’ in Bihar for the welfare of Dalit workers in this trade,” he added.
Describing the AAP government as one that excels at making empty promises, he criticized the current administration for numerous scandals, asserting that AAP leaders will be held accountable: “Jinhone loota hai, unhe lotana hi padega” (The looters will have to pay back).
While not naming him, PM Modi targeted Arvind Kejriwal, suggesting that those who dwell in “Sheesh Mahal” fail to appreciate the significance of a middle-class family’s 2 BHK flat and accused the former chief minister of delaying the allocation of permanent housing for the poor in Delhi.
Enumerating the failures of the AAPda government, PM Modi stated that it has contributed to polluted air in Delhi, worsened the state of the Yamuna, and provided contaminated water that leads to health issues, forcing residents to spend on medical care.
“Only the BJP can assist the city in overcoming its challenges, and this is ‘Modi ki Guarantee’,” he declared.
Focusing on AAP and Congress for corruption, PM Modi accused both parties of deceiving Delhiites in the name of sports, claiming that AAPda misled citizens by vowing to establish a sports university, while Congress was involved in the Commonwealth Games scandal.
Engaging government employees in R.K. Puram, PM Modi promised that after the formation of the eighth pay commission, their salaries would soon rise. “Even the pensions of retired individuals will increase,” he mentioned.
The PM also announced that the new BJP government in Delhi will establish a welfare board to provide insurance for gig workers, domestic helpers, and drivers of autorickshaws and e-rickshaws, along with affordable nutritional meals in slums for Rs 5 per meal.
Voting for a 70-member Delhi Assembly will take place on February 5, with results set to be revealed on February 8.
