Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Siliguri, April 13 (NationPress) On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi indicated that his conversations with party members in West Bengal's Siliguri affirm that the prevailing sentiment in the state is "undoubtedly leaning towards the BJP."
During his recent visit to Siliguri, PM Modi engaged with local BJP volunteers and commended their efforts at the grassroots level.
In a post shared on X, the Prime Minister displayed images from the interaction and remarked, "Engaging with dedicated BJP Karyakartas is always a pleasure. Their grassroots contributions are genuinely motivating."
PM Modi highlighted that party members recounted the struggles faced by citizens under the Trinamool Congress-led administration and expressed optimism that the populace is increasingly supportive of the "BJP's development vision."
"Following the rally in Siliguri, I met with local BJP Karyakartas who shared the challenges ordinary people have endured under TMC governance. They conveyed that the community is resonating with the BJP's development agenda," he stated.
"These discussions confirm that the atmosphere in West Bengal is clearly in favor of the BJP," he added.
Earlier on Sunday, PM Modi also posted a video from his Siliguri rally, featuring a massive and enthusiastic crowd chanting "Modi Modi," cheering enthusiastically, and waving BJP flags.
The video shows the Prime Minister capturing the vibrant environment with his phone, smiling as he gestures back to the large audience.
On Instagram, PM Modi expressed, "To witness the mood in West Bengal, visit Siliguri. There’s only one political party in the hearts and minds of the people — BJP!"
A significant number of supporters gathered at the rally site in Siliguri to see the Prime Minister and hear his speech.
The crowd exhibited their excitement and joy about meeting him, with chants of "Modi, Modi" and "BJP Zindabad" resonating throughout, accompanied by the Indian Tricolor, BJP flags, and portraits of PM Modi.
In his address at Siliguri, the Prime Minister criticized the Trinamool Congress, asserting that the party's focus on appeasement politics is evident in the state’s budgetary priorities.
"The Trinamool Congress administration allocated Rs 6,000 crore for madrasa education development, yet the budgetary provisions for North Bengal, the gateway to Northeast India, are nearly non-existent. This clearly illustrates that the Trinamool Congress-led government in West Bengal is solely focused on appeasement politics aimed at satisfying a specific community," the Prime Minister articulated during a campaign rally in Siliguri, Darjeeling district.
PM Modi reminded the audience of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's involvement in a Durga Puja carnival in Kolkata last October, while severe floods and landslides devastated North Bengal.
He also accused Trinamool Congress leaders of supporting the "Tukde-Tukde gang," allegedly attempting to disrupt the Siliguri Corridor through insurgent activities. Furthermore, he claimed that the state government has been obstructing the Union government’s efforts to implement Central welfare initiatives in the state.
