New Delhi, March 1 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday sent his warmest birthday wishes to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who has reached the age of 72.

On the social media platform X, PM Modi expressed, "Birthday greetings to Tamil Nadu CM Thiru MK Stalin. Wishing him a long and healthy life."

This greeting from the Prime Minister holds particular significance as it arrives at a time when M.K. Stalin has been in conflict with the Centre regarding delimitation and the three-language policy.

On the eve of his birthday, CM Stalin called upon the citizens of Tamil Nadu to resist the Centre's proposed delimitation initiative. He accused the Centre of targeting southern states which have managed to control population growth effectively.

In a video message on X, Stalin remarked, "The Centre asserts it is not imposing its will on the state, yet its actions imply otherwise. Delimitation would undermine Tamil Nadu’s dignity, social programs, and the welfare of its people."

The anticipated delimitation process next year is expected to significantly alter parliamentary constituencies. While northern states with greater population growth may accrue additional seats, Tamil Nadu is expected to see only a slight increase despite its successful population control measures.

This situation has ignited a political controversy, with Stalin urging the residents of Tamil Nadu to oppose what he describes as an unjust reallocation of parliamentary representation.

During his birthday celebrations, CM Stalin shared chocolates with schoolchildren at the Muthamizharignar Dr. Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi Memorial.

Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi also shared his heartfelt wishes with the Chief Minister through a letter.

He expressed, "Chief Minister Sir, I am pleased to learn that you are celebrating your 72nd birthday today. I wish that, under your leadership, the people of Tamil Nadu may receive abundant blessings and live joyfully. I also pray that by the divine grace of the Almighty, you enjoy perfect health, happiness, and continue to serve the people of Tamil Nadu."
