Patna, Feb 15 (NationPress) In preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to Bhagalpur, the president of the Bihar BJP unit, Dilip Jaiswal, convened an important meeting with party officials at the Bhagalpur Town Hall on Friday.
Following the meeting, Jaiswal announced that PM Modi is set to address a significant public assembly at the Airport Ground in Bhagalpur, with expectations of more than 500,000 attendees, including farmers from Bhagalpur and 13 nearby districts.
The Prime Minister's visit to Bhagalpur is scheduled for February 24.
Jaiswal stressed that the welfare of farmers is a primary concern for the NDA government.
“The Prime Minister is always attentive to farmers’ needs, and during his time in Bhagalpur, he will also address their welfare,” Jaiswal stated.
As the Bihar Assembly elections draw near, PM Modi's visit is perceived as a significant political occasion, likely intended to bolster the BJP's influence in the state.
Jaiswal mentioned that PM Modi will unveil the 19th installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi for farmers nationwide.
The focus of the discussions will be on farmers’ prosperity and income enhancement. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is also expected to attend the gathering.
Besides Jaiswal, notable figures at the meeting included organization general secretary Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania, former Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad, and Bihar ministers Santosh Singh, Janak Ram, and Surendra Mehta, alongside state general secretaries Mithilesh Tiwari and Lalan Mandal, along with district presidents, general secretaries, and core committee members from 13 districts.
In response to claims made by Lalu Prasad, Jaiswal took a sarcastic jab, suggesting: “The manner in which he is making assertions raises doubts about his political hold in Bihar. The promises of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are resonating throughout the nation, and in Bihar as well, the populace is firmly supporting the BJP.”
Lalu Prasad Yadav remarked on Thursday that as long as he remains politically active in Bihar, the BJP would not achieve power in the state.
Jaiswal’s comments suggest that the BJP is concentrated on consolidating its support in Bihar, especially among farmers, in anticipation of the 2025 Assembly Elections.
PM Modi's visit is likely to invigorate the party’s campaign and outreach efforts within the state.
