Bhuj, Nov 5 (NationPress) The President of Gujarat BJP, Jagdish Vishwakarma, commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his exceptional leadership on Wednesday. He remarked, “If anyone has transformed calamity into opportunity, it is our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
During a significant felicitation event in Kutch, Vishwakarma highlighted the PM’s pivotal role in reconstructing Kutch post the 2001 earthquake, turning it into a vibrant center of industry, culture, and tourism.
Addressing a large assembly of party supporters, he reminisced about Modi's commitment as Chief Minister to rejuvenate Kutch, a promise that has been realized.
“The revival of Kutch is credited to Narendra Modi,” he asserted, emphasizing that the area, once devastated by the earthquake, now exemplifies resilience and growth. He pointed out that Kutch has garnered over Rs 1.4 lakh crore in investments, with its handicrafts, tourism, and industries thriving on a global scale.
Vishwakarma also criticized the Congress party, accusing it of neglecting the hardships faced by Gujarat during its tenure.
“When Congress held power, it failed to recognize the suffering of Gujarat’s people,” he stated. “It was Narendra Modi, as Chief Minister, who championed the Sardar Sarovar Dam, ensuring that water reached from Kevadia to Kutch within merely 17 days of assuming the Prime Minister's role.”
He highlighted that initiatives like the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and Rann Utsav have brought international acclaim to Kutch and generated substantial employment opportunities. “From camel carts to aircraft, everything is now produced in Gujarat,” he noted.
Vishwakarma extolled the Prime Minister for endorsing local craftsmen and utilizing handmade products to greet international dignitaries, referring to him as “the true brand ambassador of India’s artisans.”
He also praised Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and his team for directly connecting with farmers impacted by unseasonal rains.
“The government has resolved to initiate crop procurement at MSP starting November 9 to assist distressed farmers,” he remarked, asserting that the BJP honors every commitment made to its electorate.
Senior BJP leader and MP Vinod Chavda commended Narendra Modi for his relentless dedication during Kutch’s rehabilitation, stating, “When others turned away, Modi stood firm with Kutch and left no stone unturned in its reconstruction.”
The event featured Vishwakarma receiving 1.51 lakh books, intended for distribution to underprivileged students, symbolizing a commitment to education over extravagance.
This ceremony, highlighted by a large bike rally and the presence of saints, party officials, and activists, showcased the BJP’s strong foundation and organizational prowess in the region.
Vishwakarma concluded his address urging unity and vigilance, declaring, “Those attempting to disrupt Gujarat’s harmony should be aware—the people of this state recognize imposters and will not allow them to gain power for the next 25 years.”
