New Delhi, Jan 19 (NationPress) In the inaugural episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' for 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the citizens with an early wish for a happy Republic Day, declaring this occasion particularly significant.

The Prime Minister commenced his address by honoring the valiant leaders of the nation and acknowledging their invaluable contributions.

He remarked, "You may have observed that 'Mann Ki Baat' typically occurs on the last Sunday of the month. However, this time we gather a week earlier, on the third Sunday, due to the celebration of Republic Day next Sunday. I extend my best wishes for Republic Day to all citizens in advance."

"This Republic Day holds special significance as it marks the 75th anniversary of the Republic of India. This year we celebrate 75 years since the adoption of the Constitution of India. I pay my respects to all those remarkable individuals in the 118th episode of my radio broadcast.

During the broadcast, PM Modi shared a segment of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's address, stating, "When the Constituent Assembly commenced its work, Babasaheb Ambedkar emphasized the importance of cooperation... He reiterated that the Assembly must unite and collaborate for the common good of all."

The Prime Minister also featured audio of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the leader of the Constituent Assembly, who highlighted that India's history and culture embody a spirit of coexistence and peace, reinforcing the notion that the nation would persist in this manner.

"Dr. Rajendra Prasad ji spoke about the nation's commitment to human values," PM Modi added.

Sharing an audio clip of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, PM Modi noted, "He raised the crucial issue of equal opportunities."

"As Indians, we should draw inspiration from these ideals and strive to create a nation that our Constitution framers would be proud of," he urged.

The Prime Minister pointed out that a day prior to Republic Day is National Voters' Day, commemorating the establishment of the Election Commission of India on this date.

"Our Constitution framers have enshrined the Election Commission with significant importance, facilitating public engagement in democracy. In the initial elections of 1951-52, skepticism loomed over the viability of democracy in our country. Yet, India has disproven all doubts. After all, India is the cradle of democracy," PM Modi stated.

He expressed gratitude to the Election Commission of India for its timely modernization of the voting process, stating, "I also wish to thank the Election Commission for continually enhancing our voting system. The Commission has harnessed technology to empower the populace. I commend the Election Commission for its commitment to fair elections and urge citizens to participate in large numbers to strengthen our democracy," he conveyed.

The Constitution, as delivered to us by its framers, has withstood the test of time. It serves as our guiding star. To connect citizens with our constitutional legacy, a special website has been launched at http://constitution75.com. Here, individuals can upload videos reciting the Preamble of the Constitution, access the Constitution in various languages, and pose questions regarding it," he explained.
